Brad Hodges, groups pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, highlighted the importance of being more intentional in strengthening marriages on the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board’s “Around the Table” podcast.
Hodges discussed the significance of marriage ministry, particularly his own initiative called Reengage, which he and his wife started. Having experienced marital challenges, Hodges emphasized the transformative power of Christ-rooted relationships. His journey from assuming only traditional vocations impact God’s Kingdom to recognizing the broader influence of marriage ministry underscores its societal importance.
With over nine years at Temple Baptist, Hodges, currently pursuing a doctor of ministry degree in marriage and discipleship, explained the Reengage program. This ministry involves couples sharing their stories, addressing challenging aspects of their marriages, and undergoing a 16-week curriculum covering topics like humility, forgiveness, and intimacy. Hodges highlighted the positive impact of Reengage, citing instances of reconciled marriages and individuals finding faith in the process.
