Tens of thousands gathered Sunday (Sept. 21) at State Farm Stadium in Arizona to honor Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, who was assassinated Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University.
A variety of leaders spoke during the memorial service urging young people to advance Kirk’s passion for building strong families and standing boldly for their Christian faith and values. The nearly five-hour long service blended tributes, worship and calls to continue Kirk’s work.

Pastor Rob McCoy, co-chair of Turning Point Faith, reminded mourners that Kirk viewed politics as an “on-ramp to Jesus.” Among those who spoke, Kirk’s widow, Erika, declared that she forgives the man accused of killing her husband, saying, “Charlie wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life.” Turning Point, the organization Kirk built to mobilize young Christian conservatives, announced Erika will now serve as its CEO.
