Voddie Baucham, well-known evangelical preacher and bestselling author, died Sept. 25. He was 56.
Baucham was the founding dean of African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, and served as a senior lecturer in its School of Divinity. He was also a founding faculty member of the Institute of Public Theology and founding president of Founders Ministries.
Baucham wrote a number of books, including Fault Lines and Family Driven Faith. He was also a voice actor in films such as George Washington Carver: An Uncommon Way and Genesis: Paradise Lost.
He earned degrees from Houston Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, with additional post-graduate study at the University of Oxford in England.
His family recently moved to Cape Coral, Florida, after living in Zambia since 2015.
Baucham is survived by his wife, Bridget; nine children and three grandchildren.
