37 Christians killed in Nigerian state during 3-week span of violence

Thirty-seven Christians were among those killed in a three-week span of violence in Nigeria’s Benue State.

Morning Star News states that Muslim Fulani herdsmen and other terrorists attacked a number of predominantly Christian villages on June 30, July 8 and July 16. Thirty Christians were killed July 8 in the villages of Zaki Akpuuna and Diom.

The recent violence comes after 46 Christians were killed in June in Benue State.

Christian leaders in Nigeria suspect the attackers want to seize the properties of Christians and to impose Islam, reports Morning Star.

Nigeria is No. 6 on Open Doors’ 2023 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian. Nigeria led the world in 2022 in the number of Christians killed for their faith, kidnapped, sexually assaulted, forcibly married or abused, Morning Star says.
