Rex Horne has announced he’s beginning the process of transitioning out of the role of Arkansas Baptist State Convention executive director.
During a meeting of the convention’s Operating Committee March 31, Horne requested they begin the process of finding his successor as executive director.
Horne has been in the position since October 2023.
‘Strong vision’
“I am enjoying every day, enjoying good health, and still have strong vision,” he said. “The truth is I cannot imagine a better time to bring a new leader into this responsibility. I work with a competent and committed team. The communication is clear, transparency is evident, and we are positioned to meet the needs of Arkansas Baptist churches. We are in good shape financially. We are focused on the future and thankful for God’s blessing in the past.”
The Operating Committee serves as both the personnel committee and the search committee for executive directors and makes its recommendation to the executive board. Information on the search process will be forthcoming from the operating committee.
