‘Self-created disaster’
The lawsuit reportedly claims Camp Mystic ignored known flood risks, housed campers in flood zones and failed to evacuate despite state rules requiring emergency plans. Plaintiffs accuse the camp of prioritizing profit over safety, calling the tragedy a “self-created disaster.”
Attorneys for the families seek more than $1 million in damages. Camp officials dispute the claims, citing an unprecedented flood event.
