Every Sunday, 8-year-old Micah Singerman heard his parents, International Mission Board missionaries Kevin and Victoria Singerman, tell chronological Bible stories in Kampala, Uganda.
“You don’t hear much about these people, people with leprosy, because they are more hidden, and they are more neglected and forgotten,” said Sonya Herron, IMB missionary in Uganda.
On Valentine’s evening, many Southern Baptists gathered in Phoenix, Arizona, to celebrate the latest group of missionaries heading to the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
An international ministry with Texas Baptist roots is seeking to transform remote villages in Uganda and Tanzania by providing access to education, clean drinking water and the gospel.
“I heard the attackers saying that, ‘The Christians will not celebrate the birth of Issa [Jesus] — we have to teach a lesson to these infidels for refusing our religion,’” a young woman who escaped the attack told Morning Star News.
