Audrey Kittila was crowned the 80th winner of the Miss Georgia Scholarship Competition on June 14, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Her victory gives her an expanded public platform to share her Christian faith and serve others in Jesus’ name.
The plan calls for an investigation led by Richard Hyde of Phoenix Research LLC, the placement of TMU President Emir Caner on administrative leave pending the outcome, and the appointment of John Yarbrough as acting president.
In recent months, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board hosted statewide listening sessions that drew 750 pastors and church leaders representing 363 congregations.
Beth Ann Williams, lead strategist for Georgia Baptist Women/Mission Georgia, explained, “Read Georgia is encouraging churches across the state to connect to elementary schools to help 2nd graders learn sight words.”
Building relationships across state lines and serving as one family is what Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarksville and Emmaus Church in Manchester, N.H., have been doing together for the past four years.
The Georgia Baptist Mission Board is launching a new round of Public Affairs Training events this month, designed to equip pastors and church members with the tools and insights they need to effectively engage in today’s landscape.
“One of the catch phrases is ‘authenticity is the currency of this generation,’” said PJ Dunn, a discipleship consultant for the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
