While churches often rely on shared resources for ministry, one Southern Baptist association in southwest Missouri found a way to turn a donated travel trailer into a block party trailer — designed to help churches reach their communities.

Interventions may occur during pastor transitions, strategic planning efforts or the construction of a new building. Otherwise, the underlying, less visible issues of the life cycle of congregations are ineffectively addressed.

The Bibles, provided by The Gideons International, featured the school colors, and the gift bags were packed by the church youth groups. The bags included cookies, crackers, candy and messages such as “Jesus Loves You” written on them.

Now an International Mission Board (IMB) representative back on stateside herself, Dr. Claire shared her story in a series of three Connection Meetings hosted by the Missions Mobilization department.
