Churches and individuals are encouraged to mark their calendars to pray on Oct. 22, when Southern Baptists are scheduled to observe a Day of Prayer for Associational Missions.
This year’s Southeastern Classic golf tournament raised more than $120,000 for student scholarships for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary students.
“I always thought, ‘Wow, what a great opportunity,’” said Richard Brunson, North Carolina’s Baptists on Mission executive director. “But I don’t think anybody could have envisioned what it’s become.”
“Our faith is strong. Our members are out in the community helping their neighbors with clean up,” said Christopher Arnold, pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church in Perry, Florida.
“We acknowledge the reality that there is darkness, but there is also the light of Jesus that offers hope,” said Josh Ferguson, a college pastor for UNC with The Summit Church.
