Family, friends and others in the Orlando community are morning the loss of 85-year-old Lucy Pat Curl, a long-time pastor’s wife who died after being attacked Jan. 31 during a home invasion.
“When the crash happened, I got an alert on the Citizens app [and] I immediately knew that one of my members lived in that area, so I reached out to her,” said Philadelphia pastor Gerald Waters.
“I remember praying to God, crying and saying, ‘God, I don’t have anywhere else to go. I don’t have any other reason for life. I need help, and I need you,’” Ethan Hollis said.
“They had gone through a tough situation; the pastor left … and they asked me what they should do. We asked for wisdom from above,” said Joe Souza, BCNE’s Boston area regional coordinator and immigrant ministry leader.
