William Carey University supporters gathered Jan. 27 for the dedication of the school’s latest building project, Fordham Place – new townhouses for medical students named in honor of longtime trustee Gary Fordham, who died in 2023.
“It has been amazing to see the materials and items that have been given to the warehouse. There are more givers than takers,” David Baines said.
Ryan Dupree said where he stands, there are people all around him with questions and fears — and not a lot of answers.
“We are to love people and we started going after people,” said pastor Chris Pritchett. “When someone gets burned out of their house, if they qualify, we put them in one of our houses until they get back on their feet…”
“That’s a big responsibility to lead people to Jesus. That’s what our call is as worship leaders,” said pianist Cindy Tyus at First Baptist Church, Moultrie, Georgia.
A former Caldwell County pastor who was arrested in 2023 on charges of possessing child pornography has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and a lifetime of supervision after his release.
The program is intended to provide relief to Texas Baptists churches experiencing significant insurance premium increases and coverage cancelations and to reinvest earnings to further convention ministry.
