When the pandemic forced a closure of in-person English-as-a-second language classes, Florida Baptist leaders discovered that various virtual platforms could multiply their efforts and outreach.
As ESL classes went online, students from across the globe began registering for the classes, the Florida Baptist Witness reported. “The churches realized very quickly that God had given them a worldwide ministry,” said Marc Johnston, Florida Baptists’ community ministries catalyst. “Thanks to the pandemic, our churches can go to the world on a weekly basis through virtual platforms teaching ESL.”
