Iowa Baptists are “redeploying” their Disaster Relief, announced Iowa DR Coordinator Gared Shaffer during their annual meeting Nov. 1–2 at First Family Church in Ankeny. Shaffer shared the success of recent training and deployments in disaster-affected areas.
During the Baptist Convention of Iowa meeting, attendees watched a video recap highlighted the ministry’s impact this year.

“We are excited to say that Iowa DR is redeploying to serve not just Iowa disasters but also nationwide — and even worldwide,” he said in the video. “This is a great time for you and your church members to get involved today or in the near future in Disaster Relief.”
He added, “Our desire is to bring hope, help and healing. We’re going to do help through physical helping, hope through the gospel, and giving the gospel to them. Of course those who are lost in darkness, apart from Christ also need the gospel.”
