Kentucky Today, news service of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, is launching a new podcast designed to give readers more insight into the stories that are published.
During each episode, Kentucky Today editor Lawrence Smith, managing editor Mark Maynard and content editor Chip Hutcheson, all veteran journalists and long-time Kentucky Baptists, will highlight several important stories, offering insight and analysis.
Among the topics on their list:
- The Kentucky Baptist disaster relief in flood-ravaged eastern Kentucky
- The startling dilemma facing a Kentucky Baptist pastor and his wife who desperately need mental health treatment for their adopted daughter
- The effort to free churches from having to collect the state sales tax
- Legislation, prompted in part by the tragic story of one Kentucky Baptist family, that would require investigations into the deaths of students on school property
- The connection between Kentucky attorney general Russell Coleman and a Baptist school in eastern Kentucky that he calls “foundational.”
The video podcast will be posted regularly on Kentucky Today and the audio version will soon be available on Apple and other platforms.
