Vietnamese Agape Church, Los Lunas, New Mexico, is reaching Vietnamese college students in Socorro. The church location and the students are about an hour apart, but a Vietnamese connection makes it work.

The State Missions Offering supports ministry to New Mexico’s various people groups, like Vietnamese people. Vietnamese are only one of many unique language and cultural groups in the state. For all to hear the gospel, New Mexico Baptists are making special efforts to reach even them.

Vietnamese Agape Church, Los Lunas, New Mexico, is reaching Vietnamese college students in Socorro. The church location and the students are about an hour apart, but a Vietnamese connection makes it work.

Tan Nguyen pastors the church. He understands the students, sharing their south Vietnam history, culture and experiences. He is Vietnamese.

Few Vietnamese live in Los Lunas, but Tan felt like his family should reach out to the 20–25 Vietnamese students in Socorro.
