Jermaine Vaughn, bivocational pastor of Elevate Church, Moore, Oklahoma, was awarded the Congressional Badge of Bravery for his service with the United States Marshall Service.
In May 2018 Vaughn, working with other officers to apprehend a dangerous fugitive, was involved in an exchange of gunfire during a felony traffic stop. After the suspect, who was using a semi-automatic rifle, was neutralized, Vaughn rendered initial first aid to those injured, the Baptist Messenger reported.
