More prayers for Israel are being urged following Iran’s attack on the country over the weekend. Iran had been threatening in recent days to attack Israel after accusing them of an airstrike that killed two Iranian generals in Syria.
Israeli leaders said they were ready for Saturday’s (April 13) attack.
Benny Gantz, Israeli defense minister, told the media that 99% percent of the missiles and drones were shot down, according to The Associated Press. He went on to say Israel would work with allies to “exact a price from Iran in a way and time that suits us.”

Iran’s leaders reportedly said they aren’t planning any further attacks unless Israel takes action against them.
John Kirby, White House national security spokesman, said during a press conference, “Whether and how the Israelis will respond, that’s going to be up to them. We understand that and respect that, but the president’s been very clear we don’t seek a war with Iran, we’re not seeking for escalation here.”

“Prayers for the safety of believers in the Middle East, for peace, and for the gospel of peace to be heard and believed,” Paul Chitwood, International Mission Board president, posted on social media April 13.
Brent Leatherwood, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, also shared, “The attack that has been feared for days appears to be here. May this threat be neutralized quickly, with no loss of life. Israel has already been through so much.”
