This week’s Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting will be filled with pivotal business items ranging from sexual abuse reform efforts to appeals of the SBC Executive Committee disfellowshipping churches with women serving as pastors.
SBC President Bart Barber noted in a recent video update that convention leaders “have tried to pay attention to the ongoing requests from … messengers to make sure that we give time for messengers to be able to conduct the business that they want to do.”
Among dozens of motions introduced at last year’s annual meeting, action on several of the motions will be reported back to messengers during multiple business sessions. For a quick refresher on motions to be addressed this week, check out this overview of proposed and pending motions from SBC 2002: Complete list of motions proposed at SBC Annual Meeting and status updates – The Baptist Paper
