Gateway Seminary has initiated an executive transition plan to elect a new Seminary president. Current President, Jeff Iorg, asked the board of trustees to begin the transition process at the October 10, 2023 meeting, in Portland, Oregon.
Two letters have been sent to the SBC Executive Committee — one representing Hispanic church leaders and the other from Asian American leadership — expressing concerns over the EC’s recent layoffs.

While the anticipated next step regarding who will lead the SBC Executive Committee in the interim period changed mid-way through the trustees’ meeting this week, trustee chair Philip Robertson plans to begin a new search right away.
