Southwestern Seminary student Lachune Boyd performed live before the nation on America’s Got Talent during the fifth qualifying round of the hit show on Sept. 19.
“In the last three years, the shift has been staggering: 435,000 lost in 2020; 410,000 in 2021; and then 484,000 in 2022. In total, the [Southern Baptist Convention] has lost more than 1.3 million people in just three years.”
In his introduction of Rankin, SWBTS President David S. Dockery expressed delight to have the alumnus back to preach on campus. Rankin suffered a minor stroke in July but was able to keep his scheduled visit.
The official nomination of Julio Guarneri, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, Texas, as BGCT’s next executive director will take place Sept. 18.
“We have been communicating with churches in Perry, Cross City, Live Oak and others where public feeding and cleanup efforts will be taking place,” said David Coggins, Florida Baptist Disaster Relief director.
Participants ranged in their golfing skills from amateur to experienced, but Jonah Twiddy and his family were real winners. Twiddy received the $5,000 Rick Bordas scholarship.
