In this centennial year of the Cooperative Program, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is celebrating some milestones too, said President Jamie Dew — specifically over 100,000 gospel presentations and over 10,000 professions of faith from students in the seminary’s Caskey Center program.

Students at NOBTS and Leavell College are getting a “strong theological education” for much less money than at other seminaries thanks to Southern Baptists’ gifts through the Cooperative Program.
In the seminary’s report to the convention June 11, Dew highlighted the launch of the Center for Worship Studies and Crescent City Worship, whose aim is to train the next generation of local church worship leaders in theology and practice.
Dew said he could highlight other numbers and statistics about the campus, its faculty and its student body, but his greatest joy comes from the overall morale on campus.
“It’s a sweet place to be,” he said. “This is a faculty, a staff and administration, and most importantly, a student body that have bought into the mission statement of NOBTS and Leavell College to prepare servants to walk with Christ, proclaim His truth and fulfill His mission. Those four principles shape everything we do at NOBTS.”
