‘We Proclaim Him’: Pastors Conference theme and biblical text announced

“We Proclaim Him” is the theme, and the Book of Colossians is the selected text for the 2022 Southern Baptist Convention Pastors Conference, Matt Henslee, president of the 2022 conference, announced Feb. 15.

“Week in and week out, everyday pastors all over our convention proclaim Christ from pulpits, pub tables and everything in between. The pastors may be in suits, or they might be in skinny jeans; they might be in megachurches or tiny churches — the differences are endless, but the call is universal: Proclaim Him. Rallying ourselves around this central component of our ministries is a great way to encourage unity,” Henslee wrote in a blog post.

$320,000 raised so far

The 12 men slated to bring messages at the conference will preach verse-by-verse through the Book of Colossians, he said. On Feb. 17, the conference preachers will gather at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, for “a time of brainstorming, equipping and fellowship,” and some “good ol’ Texas BBQ,” Henslee said.

Henslee also reported that approximately $320,000 has been raised to cover Pastors Conference expenses, but donations are still being accepted.
