WMU leaders building craft stick houseboat this week

Described by people across the nation as "the neatest project ever" and "amazing," missions advocates are watching and waiting intently this week — and also relieved it is only a model (no one is going to live in the craft stick houseboat).
National WMU leaders and friends delivered the tools and a giant load of craft sticks to the build site near Lay Lake in central Alabama over the weekend in preparation for this week’s building of the mock houseboat.

WMU leaders building craft stick houseboat this week

It’s time — the building of the craft stick houseboat begins today in central Alabama near Lay Lake, where it will float soon.

National Woman’s Missionary Union has been promoting the effort for several months as a way to help teach children about the Cooperative Program. They’ve been advocating for panels to be developed and this past Friday, Nov. 1, was the deadline. Read more about the project here.
