Around 170 women serving in churches across Kentucky recently gathered for Cultivate, a women’s ministry leadership conference. This year’s theme: Called to Serve.
“As a woman in leadership, it’s so nice to come to an event just to participate and be encouraged and edified. Every event at my church comes with responsibilities. Cultivate equips me to lead well and gives me ideas to take back to our church,” said Shannon Hampshire of Valley View Church in Louisville.
Women serving on church staffs or lay members volunteering as women’s ministry leaders, Sunday school teachers, small group leaders and others in positions of leadership and influence were in attendance. Cultivate took place at Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown on Oct. 25—26.
Each participated in equipping workshops, enjoyed times of fellowship and heard teaching from Kelly King, a women’s minister, visiting professor and former manager of magazines/devotional publishing and women’s ministry training for Lifeway Christian Resources.
In 2025, Cultivate is Aug. 1-2 in Louisville. Learn more at kybaptist.org/cultivate.
