The Baptist General Association of Virginia has announced Food to Faith — an initiative that “brings mission and ministry together in a powerful new way.”
“Here’s the truth: your story matters. Your testimony matters. And even if no one believes you, there’s someone out there who desperately needs to hear it,” writes Tony Martin, editor of The Baptist Record.
Discipleship as a lifelong journey and the role of biblical counseling are important in addressing life challenges, noted Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary faculty in a Jan. 30 panel discussion.
“The Baptist Collegiate Ministries across Florida play a strategic role in reaching students on campus and connecting them to local Florida Baptist churches,” said Nathan Schneider, Florida Baptists’ next generation ministry lead catalyst.
Founder and director Becky Delisio says, “Last year, our budget for the baby pantry was $600, but we gave away over $60,000 worth of diapers, $30,000 in wipes, and $50,000 in formula.”
Challenges as well as opportunities exist in not only reaching the Gen Z population, but in mobilizing that demographic for the cause of Christ. Both facets were involved in a REFOCUS event Tuesday.
“The reason we’re continuing to do this on such a cold night is because some of our neighbors don’t [have a] choice of what the weather is outside,” Ryan Duerk said.
