In late August, about 80,000 people known as “Burners” will load up their vehicles with whatever they can cram into their ride and head toward “the middle of nowhere” in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
The Nevada Baptist Convention has named Adam Mallette its next executive director/treasurer. Mallette, lead teaching pastor of King’s Church in Las Vegas, was approved to serve following a unanimous vote by the NBC’s Executive Board on Aug. 11 at a special called business meeting.
Damian Cirincione, executive director of the Nevada Baptist Convention since September of 2021 announced his resignation Feb. 23 in a meeting with the executive board. A letter and video were sent Feb. 27 to pastors and leaders in Nevada.
During the meeting, messengers voted to decrease Nevada’s Cooperative Program percentage from a 50/50 percentage split to 75/25.
“To reach people, it takes a lot of honesty, one-on-one conversations and consistency,” pastor Austin White told The Baptist Paper. He could have added “patience.”
