“When they are at work in the church, they are very isolated,” said Tzib. “But with these events, it has been a blessing for them to grow closer and discuss the similar challenges they face.”
The motion, filed Thursday, March 27, asks the U.S. Middle District Court to dismiss the lawsuit because attorneys for the county say the court lacks jurisdiction to hear and rule on the case.
Mal Underwood, a Brentwood Baptist DR volunteer, described the relief effort as a multi-stage process. “Flood relief is about triaging first responses — getting the mud out and helping families return to a degree of normalcy,” he said.
