“He came back and said, ‘I’m going to steal five things from y’all.’ I said, ‘Good thing, because I’m stealing five from y’all,’’’ said Baptist Campus Ministry leader Daniel Johnson.
“It drives my passion to see how my life was transformed by this ministry and wanting to see that happen in other students. I love to see how God is working around the world.”
Thomas A. Kinchen, president emeritus of the Baptist University of Florida (formerly Baptist College of Florida), died Jan. 11 of pancreatic cancer. He retired from the school in December 2022 after 32 years as its president.
More than 40 students from First Baptist Church Zachary, Louisiana, have embraced God’s call to be missionaries in their schools, and subsequently have begun to see a spiritual harvest from their collective outreach efforts.

A former executive director of New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries has been indicted by a Roosevelt County Grand Jury on numerous charges. The charges included fraud, forgery and disposing of stolen property.
“There are a lot of good quality young people who are being responsive to the gospel and obedient to the Lord’s calling on their lives,” the young adults minister said. “They are embracing the need to share Jesus and be disciples.”
