Resolutions “On the Centennial Anniversary of the Cooperative Program” and “On Honoring the Centennial Anniversary of the Baptist Faith and Message (1925) and Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)” were among eight resolutions approved by messengers during sessions June 10-11 in Dallas.
Brent Leatherwood, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, said his entity had two defunding questions on its plate June 11 as he delivered ERLC’s report to the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Dallas.
“Southwestern Seminary is in a very different place than it was 33 months ago,” said David Dockery, president of Southwestern Seminary. “The board, faculty, staff and students are unanimous in their sense of joyful hopefulness.”
“It is our responsibility and it is our stewardship to make certain that wherever … the reach of the Southern Baptist Convention is found, there is gospel Christianity there, there is biblical preaching there, there is the faith once for all delivered to the saints there,” Al Mohler said.
Southeastern Seminary’s institutional commitment to training students for ministry remains strong, said President Danny Akin in his report to messengers at the 2025 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Dallas.
Students at NOBTS and Leavell College are getting a “strong theological education” for much less money than at other seminaries thanks to Southern Baptists’ gifts through the Cooperative Program.
Highlighting four strategic priorities — missional faithfulness, faculty strength, student success and a flourishing campus community — Allen said incoming residential master’s degree-seeking students can receive a full tuition scholarship for their first year.
In his report to messengers at the 2025 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Dallas, Gateway Seminary President Adam Groza said the seminary is “healthy, … growing and … focused.”
Pulling his message from Ecclesiastes 11: 1–6, Tony Wolfe — executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention — urged messengers to not retreat from their global mission.
